Why is Lady Louise Windsor not a Princess?

Technically under the royal rules, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn were eligible to be known as Princess Louise and Prince James.

But it was decided a few decades ago that the number of working titled royals should be reduced.

Royal expert Marlene Koenig told Express.co.uk: “In the late 1990s, the Way Ahead group, which included senior royals, advisers and government officials, discussed plans to limit the size of working royals – and who would be royal.”
