The 16ft by 13ft wooden cabin in posh Mudeford Spit, Dorset, would set a new record if sold. It has a tiny kitchen but doesn’t come with a toilet, although estate agents say it is slightly bigger than the neighbouring units.
A neighbouring hut sold for £375,000 a few months ago but the pandemic and rise in staycation breaks have seen prices shoot up since.
Speaking to Dorset Live, Denisons Estate Agents said this hut comes with solar panels for electricity and bottled gas for cooking.
It sleeps up to six and is on two levels with two plush bedrooms on the upper level, two further sleeping areas on the ground floor and fully fitted kitchen with an integrated fridge freezer.
The hut also has two decking areas for entertaining.
Photos show the beach hut is right on the sand on the exclusive resort in posh Dorset.
The estate agent listing reads: “One of a handful of the finest located huts on Mudeford Sand Spit.
“The property enjoys an elevated position with glorious uninterrupted front and rear views of the beach and harbour.
“This truly high spec hut has recently undergone major improvements and now has a fully functional kitchen with water heater and stone work top together with an integrated fridge freezer and soft closure utility drawers.
“The home comfortably sleeps 6 with two doubles on the ground floor and a double on the mezzanine.
“Solar panels provide 12 volt electricity and there is also bottle gas for cooking.”
But people on social media have reacted with horror to the price tag of the hut with one saying: “Christchurch has a massive shortage of affordable housing. This is just disgusting.”
Another added: “We can’t even buy our first home – totally priced out and also having to pay high rentals can’t save anything, it’s so depressing!”
A third posted: “That’s immoral.”
