Some of the most interesting moments of Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker came when Kylo Ren made a triumphant return to the series alongside his personal bodyguards: The Knights of Ren. This enigmatic team was comprised of Force-sensitive warriors who were (like their master) covered in black robes and wielded red lightsabers and other various bladed weapons. The tables quickly turned for them during the final battle against Ben Solo in Exogol, however.

During their last battle Ben Solo and Rey defeated the Knights of Ren in a vicious lightsaber fight, ending their journey once and for all. Fans will of course remember the final moment of the combat when Ben summoned Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber before shrugging – just like his father Han Solo. However, a new trailer has been leaked online, supposedly directly from Disney Plus and Lucasfilm. The YouTube video comes from the account SamuelChristopher and looks to be footage shot directly off of a screen. The dramatic trailer’s voiceover says: “Fear, fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to power!” A Ren Knight can be seen standing on a TIE fighter before jumping off of it mid-flight over a lightning bolt to attack an X-wing with their lightsaber.

The final shot of the trailer shows the Knight standing atop the X-wing wreckage before igniting two red lightsabers. Fans were also treated with the title of the feature: Knights of Ren: A Star Wars Story. It is as of yet uncertain if this trailer is fake or real, but the excellent production quality certainly looks like it has been made by the House of Mouse. The last seconds of the trailer also showed a Disney Plus logo, suggesting this could be a TV series that will be arriving on the streaming service before anything else.

As fans know, the Crimson Dawn is still working out of Tatooine, so the Knights of Ren could make a cameo appearance in the ongoing Book of Boba Fett TV series. Considering the bounty hunter has been investigating a mysterious crime syndicate, it would make sense for them to appear with the Knights in tow. Alternatively, Knights of Ren: A Star Wars Story may be set long after the sequel trilogy’s conclusion (The Rise of Skywalker). With Rey on the run as the last Jedi warrior, the Knights of Ren would certainly be seeking revenge on the woman who destroyed not only their master but the final Sith lord as well.

The Knights of Ren recently made another appearance in Star Wars media – the comic books from IDW Publishing. Writer for the Star Wars comic books, Charles Soule, recently revealed some new details about Kylo Ren and his Knights from long before the events of The Force Awakens. He announced: “To clarify – Ren and the Knights of Ren are not part of Crimson Dawn. They are working with Qi’ra and her people to achieve a shared goal. Ren’s not much of a joiner.”

The Star Wars saga is available on Disney Plus now.
